New Nucleotide Alignments API
A number of new endpoints are being released as a part of the Nucleotide Alignments API, replacing the deprecated DNA Alignments API. See this changelog post for more details.
What’s changing?
The following new endpoints will be made available as part of the Nucleotide Alignments API:
GET /nucleotide-alignments- List Nucleotide AlignmentsGET /nucleotide-alignments/{nucleotide_alignment_id}- Get a Nucleotide AlignmentPOST /nucleotide-alignments:create-template-alignment- Create a template Nucleotide AlignmentPOST /nucleotide-alignments:create-consensus-alignment- Create a consensus Nucleotide AlignmentDELETE /nucleotide-alignments/{nucleotide_alignment_id}- Delete a Nucleotide Alignment
These endpoints are a more general replacement for the deprecated DNA Alignments API. The endpoints above correspond one-to-one with the endpoints of the DNA Alignments API, but will eventually include support for RNA sequences. More information on the DNA Alignments API deprecation can be found here.
When is this happening?
The Nucleotide Alignments API will be released on September 30th 2022. While the DNA Alignments API will continue to be supported until its eventual sunset, we strongly encourage folks to migrate to the Nucleotide Alignments API as soon as possible.
[DEPRECATED] DNA Alignments API
A number of dna-alignments endpoints are being deprecated to make room for new functionality. See this changelog post for more information on replacement functionality.
What’s changing?
The following endpoints are being deprecated:
GET /dna-alignments- List DNA Alignments- GET /dna-alignments/{dna_alignment_id} - Get a DNA Alignment
- POST /dna-alignments:create-template-alignment - Create a template DNA Alignment
- POST /dna-alignments:create-consensus-alignment - Create a consensus DNA Alignment
- DELETE /dna-alignments/{dna_alignment_id} - Delete a DNA Alignment
The DNA Alignments API is being deprecated and replaced by a new, more general Nucleotides Alignments API to support both DNA and RNA alignments in the future. More information on the Nucleotides Alignments API can be found in the corresponding changelog post.
When is this happening?
These endpoints will officially be marked deprecated on September 7th 2022. They will continue to be supported until their eventual sunset date (TBD), but we encourage folks who depend on these endpoints to being migrating to the new Nucleotide Alignments API as soon as possible.
